It’s been a few months since, New York-Based Beauty Brand, Milk Makeup, launched in the UK, with Online beauty destination, Cult Beauty.
here's a quick run-down:
Milk Makeup was created by members of Milk Studios, a creative studio based in NY.
Milk Makeup’s tag line is: GOOD INGREDIENTS. EPIC PAYOFF.
Their products are all cruelty-free, paraben-free and 100% Vegan.
The range features high impact makeup with minimum fuss, think Glossier models. Just like Glossier, their range includes Skincare and Makeup.
A simple, straight-forward range of multi-purpose, functional, no-frills products.
In my opinion, the range is targeted at a younger audience, but the products are suitable for any age. The branding is a little bit edgy/cheeky with product names like Quickie, Kush, etc.
THE BEST Of…
Lip + Cheek in Quickie
Lip + Cheek in Quickie
The Lip + Cheek from Milk Makeup, is a stick of pure joy. It is the one thing I can count on to give me that effortless, dewy, I-woke-up-like-this look that I am obsessed with.
Milk Makeup describe it as a “Multi-use sheer blush and lip tint”, and that is what it is. These sticks are made with Mango Butter and Avocado Oil, so they leave your skin feeling nourished and moisturised. Like the rest of the range, Lip + Cheek is Vegan, Cruelty-free, Gluten-free, Soy-free and Talc-free.
The formula is nothing short of witchcraft. Despite the consistency, the colour is buildable and easily blend-able, resulting in streak-free, easy-going, hints of colour, just where you want it.
The sticks are a nice chunky weight, and also come in handy mini sizes for all your travel needs. You can use them stick-to-skin, or apply with your fingers (or a brush, if you prefer).
This is my favourite thing, can you tell?
KUSH Lip Glaze
Part of Milk Makeup’s CBD oil-based range, KUSH, this Lip Glaze is uber moisturising and doubles up as a lip treatment.
Put it on at night and wake up to a soft, smooth pout, or use it during the day, on its own or over colour for a high gloss finish.
The metal applicator applies with a cooling sensation, which is so much fun when its warm outside.
As you can see from the image, I use this particular tube, multiple times, everyday.
Made up of cocoa, mango and shea butters, you can imagine how moisturising this product is. It also provides anti-oxidant magic, thanks to jojoba and olive oils. It comes off a green colour but it applies clear and has a subtle minty flavour, should you happen to taste your lips as you move through your day.
Kush Lip Glaze
Flex Concealer in Warm Deep
FLEX CONCEALER IN Warm Deep
I went from being a little dubious about concealer to being obsessed (that’s another post), and now I am becoming a bit of an aficionado, if I do say so myself.
Flex Concealer contains calming chamomile and flexible marshmallow root extract.
Offering a non-creasing, non-cakey, full coverage formula, Flex Concealer is fast becoming a must-have in my daily routine. It has a creamy consistency but stays in place and blends smoothly into the skin. The applicator is a standard doe-footed wand, which makes it super simple to apply the product exactly where you need it. A word of caution! I would build this up gradually, as it is a full coverage concealer. I find a little goes a long way, and it is really easy to go overboard with this product. Dot or swipe a little bit where you need it, blend and then add a bit more if you need it, or you’ll end up with a ‘mask’.
Kush High Volume Mascara
Another member of the KUSH collection, this mascara is great for your own lashes(do not apply over false individual lashes). My lashes always look fuller after application. So much so that I don’t feel the need to line my eyes.
I don’t get the ‘stingy’ eyes that I experience with many other mascaras, so clearly this is suitable for sensitive eyes. I got the mini travel size, so I have no problems, touching up if I need to during the day. Win-Win.

Here’s how I achieve an everyday look with Milk Makeup
There are many more products in the range, but these are the one’s that I believed are the most brown skin-friendly. I am still trying out products from the brand, namely the Lit highlighter and the newly released Hydro Grip primer. At the time of writing this post, Milk Makeup has just released Glow Oil Lip + Cheek. An oil version of Lip + Cheek in a no-more-spills stick! I cannot wait to give them a try.
All in all, if don’t have oily skin, this would be a great brand to try for a healthy from-within glow. Because the range is so heavily, oil and butter based, It is great for normal/dry skins, and maybe combination skin, depending on how your skin behaves. The Sticks are not heavily pigmented, but the complexion products offer great coverage, which, to be honest, results in the easy-going, effortless style that I love.
